The armor of the Red Knight is typical of the type used in the middle 15th century for the tilt or joust. Every line of this armor was made functional, each surface shaped to deflect blows from the opponent's weapons and to protect the wearer. A huge crest was sometimes attached to the helmet during this period, which identified the knight and his origin. Removable helmet to show detailed head. Display base with historical date. The Black Knight of Nurnberg

The Black Knight armor represented a person of great strength and position and was developed during the late 16th Century. This piece of armor was designed to withstand a great deal of abuse while still protecting its wearer. This special suit weighed about 100 lbs while the normal suits were 70-85 lbs. The maneuverability of the suit was obtained by fastening together 100 pieces of steel so that the person could move in any direction. With this style of suit the knight was ready for both mounted and ground battle with the enemy. Detailed head and helmet with opening face guard and highly decorated armor pieces. Display base with historical date and weapons, a lance and battle club. Molded in light gray.

Gold Knight with Horse

At first glance, one might assume that the Gold Knight of Nice is a character taken out of an old King Arthur legend. However, his gold-plated armor realistically represents how typical knights appeared throughout the medieval period. Many elite soldiers of the time were given similar-looking armor for use in battle and jousting. It usually consisted of metal pieces (including gauntlets and a breastplate), which were specially tailored to fit that particular knight. Kit features light grey molding, a removable helmet, a sword and a horse with armor and accessories.
